Jazz Singer

Jayne Kelly

The same skill and sensitivities that influence Jayne’s classical piano playing are found in her talents in the very different world of being a jazz singer; her voice is enchanting, nuanced, and gracefully penetrating.

Performing classics of the American songbook, as well as some more contemporary jazz-flavored songs, Jayne Kelly totally focuses with her voice, and leaves the ivories in the hands of jazz pianist Jerry Germer.

Gerry GermerJerry Germer played jazz in various combos in norther Utah during his high school and college years. After moving to New Hampshire in the 1980s he played clarinet and bassoon in the Keene State College Band, and bassoon in the Keene Chamber Orchestra and the woodwind quintet, Quintessence. He has composed and published several pieces for woodwind quintets, and in 2000 he co-authored “Horning In: the Grown-Ups Guide to Making Music for Fun”, with his late wife Lucie. Jerry’s background in woodwinds informs his piano playing, which is finely-nuanced to complement Jayne’s singing.
